OpenAI Update: Artist’s Work By Sora
Ever seen a giraffeflamingo?

OpenAI has released works from seven artists who were given access to make use of Sora — a generative video creation platform. Although it has not been made available to the public yet, they revealed in their “Sora: first impressions” blog post that by working with working with visual artists, designers, creative directors and filmmakers they will be able to gain feedback which will help them improve their model by understanding how creatives make use of Sora.
Details of how the clips were generated or the prompts used were not shared by the creative community who took part in this test but here are clips of the seven works.
1. Don Allen Stevenson III, Digital AR/XR Artist

2. shy kids — “Air Head”

3. Nik Kleverov, Creative Director / Native Foreign

4. Josephine Miller, Creative Director

5. Alex Reben, Sculptor/Artist and OpenAI’s Artist In Residence

6. August Kamp, Artist/Musician

7. Paul Trillo, Director

It makes sense that OpenAI would take this route, their audience the creative community needs to view the tool as an assistant rather than an enemy which has come to replace them.
