GPT-4 Turbo with Vision is available in the API

GPT-4 Turbo with Vision is now available in the API, offering developers the ability to process images and generate textual responses. This large multimodal model combines natural language processing with visual understanding, capable of answering questions about the content of images. It can be used through the Chat Completion APIs, and developers can call the API with a combination of text and images for analysis. For detailed guidance on using GPT-4 Turbo with Vision, you can refer to the Azure OpenAI Service documentation.

Gemini 1.5 Pro can now Listen

Gemini 1.5 Pro has introduced a groundbreaking feature with its latest update: native audio understanding. This allows the model to understand and process audio (speech) inputs natively. It’s a significant advancement that enables developers to build applications with more natural and intuitive user interactions. The Gemini 1.5 Pro is now available in over 180 countries, and along with audio understanding, it includes system instructions, JSON mode, and a new File API to handle files more efficiently1.

For developers, this means they can now integrate audio inputs into their applications, allowing for a wider range of functionalities like voice commands, audio content analysis, and more interactive AI experiences. The update also includes a new text embedding model that outperforms comparable models, enhancing the model’s performance

Bitcoin Halving Today!

Bitcoin halving is a significant event in the cryptocurrency world that occurs approximately every four years, or after every 210,000 blocks are mined. It’s a process where the reward for mining new blocks is halved, meaning miners receive 50% less Bitcoin for verifying transactions. The last halving occurred on May 11, 2020, and the next one is expected around April 19-20, 2024

The purpose of halving is to control the supply of Bitcoin and introduce a deflationary aspect to its economic model. Since the total number of Bitcoins that can ever exist is capped at 21 million, halving events contribute to the scarcity of Bitcoin. This scarcity, combined with steady or increasing demand, has historically led to an increase in Bitcoin’s price1.

The upcoming halving in 2024 will decrease the block reward from 6.25 Bitcoin per block to approximately 3.125 Bitcoin per block1. This event is not only significant for its impact on miners’ rewards but also for its potential influence on Bitcoin’s market value and its broader economic implications.
